Background
I grew up in Waterloo, ON and am a dual citizen of Canada and the United States.
From 1985 1989, I attended Trent University in Peterborough, ON. I graduated with an Honours BA in Cultural Studies.
I returned to school in 1991 to study journalism at Conestoga College in Kitchener, ON. Shortly thereafter, I began freelancing.
Since the early 1990s, I have written hundreds of news articles, features, profiles, investigative pieces, advertorials, corporate stories and public relations items. My writing credits include The National Post, The Globe and Mail, Marketing Magazine, eye weekly, The Centre for Addiction and Mental Health Journal, etc.
I am particularly adept at writing about political, social and cultural issues, automotive, high-tech and business topics and health-related concerns. In addition to my work as a journalist, I am a published author. I have written several books for Altitude Publishing of Alberta. These include works on bank robber Edwin Alonzo Boyd (published in 2003), The Black Donnellys (2004), John Lennon (2005), American gangsters Dutch Schultz (2005) and Al Capone (2006), Crystal Meth (2006) and modern China (yet to be released). I am currently working on a book about the end of oil for Altitude.
I have also published two childrens books with Jackfruit Press of Toronto: Jean Chretien: The Scrapper Who Climbed His Way to the Top (2005) and William Lyon Mackenzie King: The Loner Who Kept Canada Together (2006). My
latest book, Bonnie and Clyde: A Biography, was published by the Greenwood
Publishing Group in spring, 2007. This marks my first book by an American publisher. I am the Ontario Regional
Director of the Professional Writers Association of Canada. PWAC
is a national organization that represents the interests of freelance
writers. Here are some of favourite links: Here's a link to Chapters - fine folks who happen to sell my books, along with a few others. My books are also available at Amazon
